Bhagat Singh's heroic mother Vidyavati Kaur
History is a witness to the fact that only those mothers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country, religion and society have put such rites on their minds. In the freedom struggle of India, Bhagat Singh's name is prominent among the brave heroes who hanged themselves. The hero of that hero was Mrs. Vidyavati Kaur.
Vidyavati ji's entire life was spent amidst many irony and annoyance. When she came in-laws after her marriage to Sardar Kishan Singh, the atmosphere here was full of patriotism. His brother-in-law, Sardar Ajitsingh, was living outside the country and was awakening to freedom. He returned to India shortly before attaining independence; But on seeing the country divided, his heart hurt so much that he pulled out of his body on August 15, 1947.
His other brother-in-law, Sardar Swarn Singh, was also sacrificed after suffering torture in prison. Her husband Kishan Singh also had one foot in the house, the other lived in jail and court. Vidyavati's elder son Jagatsingh died of typhus at the age of 11. If Bhagat Singh was hanged at the age of 23, then Kulathar Singh and Kulvir Singh, younger than him, also spent many years in jail.
Due to these jails and litigation, the farming went on a rampage and the house was even sold. Meanwhile, there was a robbery in the house. Once the thieves stole only their pair of oxen, the flooded water also washed away the shabby house of the village. Envious neighbors burnt their ripe crop. Sardar Kishan Singh was paralyzed in 1939–40. He was bitten four times by the snake himself; But the rich mother of high morale was cured every time with home remedies and broom. Hearing the news of the hanging of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, he put a stone on his heart because Bhagat Singh once told him that you should not cry, otherwise what would people say that Bhagat Singh's mother is crying.
The famous writer of Ujjain, Shri Sri Krishna ‘Saral’ wrote an epic on Bhagat Singh. When Mataji came to Ujjain for its release on March 9, 1965, his reception was thronged throughout the city. They were taken to the venue in an open chariot. People laid flowers on the road. Not only this, the people standing on the balcony also kept a wreath on them.
After the release of the book, Saral Ji with his thumb tilak blood on Mataji's spear. Mataji put the same thumb on a book and auctioned it. 3,331 from him. Were received. Hundreds of people presented garlands and zodiac signs to Mataji. 11,000 thus received Mataji sent Bhagat Singh's partner Batukeshwar Dutt undergoing treatment in Delhi. After the ceremony, people chose the flowers of those garlands and took them to their home. People put dust on the head where Mataji was sitting. Hundreds of mothers placed their children at Mataji's feet, so that they too could become heroes like Bhagat Singh.
After 1947, Gandhian satyagrahis got many governmental facilities; But the revolutionaries often remained neglected. Many of them lived a life of great suffering in oblivion. Mataji considered them all as his sons. She used to go to meet him after finding his news and quietly put the amount of pension he received from the government under the pillow there.
Thus, after living a meaningful and long life, Mataji breathed his last on June 1, 1975 in a hospital in Delhi. At that time, he had a pleasant feeling in his mindJune 1
